Stellenbosch FC’s poor start to the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season continued as they suffered a 2-1 loss away to Bloemfontein Celtic at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday.

Stellies opened the scoring in Bloemfontein through Wazeem Isaacs – who scored the club’s first goal in South Africa’s top division – but were unable to hold on for a first victory of the season, with two goals in two minutes leading Siwelele to all three points and up to ninth place on the log standings.

Last season’s second division champions remain in 15th place; winless after five rounds of fixtures.

Over in Thohoyandou, Baroka FC ended their winless run against Limpopo rivals Black Leopards with a 2-0 victory.

Mfanafuthi Shozi and Tshidiso Patjie found the back of the net for Bakgaga who shoot up to sixth place on the log standings, while Lidoda Duvha remain 12th.
